Bienvenue dans le monde francophone!
About the Teacher
I was dreaming about teaching French since I was 9 years old. After graduating from college, I was accepted as an instructor at the university in Kiev, Ukraine.
When I moved to the United States, I discovered my passion for teaching French at the secondary level at Marquette High School in Ottawa. During my 21 years at DeKalb High School, DeKalb IL I taught all 4 levels of French. To immerse my students in French culture and language outside of the classroom, I took them to France, Italy and Spain, organized yearly field trips to Chicago Art Institute, French restaurants, cafés and bakeries. With my students we attended several opera performances at Lyric Opera in Chicago, created and performed French plays in French, participated in French Forensics, homecoming parades, cooked French Christmas dinners and competed at the school pétanque tournaments.
I believe that learning of a language opens the door to the new world and provides you with new tremendous opportunities.
I am very excited to start the new adventure at Marian Central Catholic High School this year and invite all of you to the French speaking world!
