Mrs. Bethany Martinovici

I am a Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher and Department Head at Merrill High School. I take pride in our Special Education Department as we continue to work collaboratively with all staff to mainstream students in classrooms and to provide them with ample elective and transition opportunities during their career at the high school. I also provide guidance to students on transition and brainstorm with them on opportunities for life beyond our doors. In the classroom, I team teach in Algebra class with Mr. Klug and Pre-Algebra with Mr. Schultz. I also teach a section of Algebra in my classroom and Special Education Art class. I volunteer with the Track and Field and Cross Country programs. In addition, I work with three others as a Freshman Class Advisor and Link Crew Coordinator.

I am from Monroe, WI (home of the Cheesemakers) and graduated from there in 2003. I attended Edgewood College for a year before transferring to UW- Madison, where I graduated in 2008 with a BS in Special Education (Cross Categorical K-12). I later earned my master’s degree from UW-LaCrosse.

When I am not at school, I love to travel, being with friends and family, and doing anything outdoors. I would say I enjoy cooking and reading and wish I would spend more time doing it for fun. I have two children who keep me busy and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I look forward to a year of growth, student learning and engagement, and developing strong partnerships between school, the community, and families.
