Beech Art

Wecome to Beech Street School. My name is Jennifer Shea and I am proud to be the Art teacher. There are 26 classes that have Art one time a week for 45 minutes. We have a beautiful Art room with all of the latest technology. My students enjoy watching a demonstration on our large 73 inch screen. We also love to hear books or short videos that are intergrated into our lesson. Thanks for looking! Be sure to check back for new pictures and fabulous student work.

Op Art Hands and Heart

In grades 4 and 5 we created an Op Art lesson. We used straight lines, curved lines and different colors. The results were great!

We learned about Abraham Lincoln for Presidents' Day. We watched some short videos, listened to stories about him and heard some very interesting facts.

These books were a few of our favorites. It is a fun way to learn combining Art and History.

Grades 4 and 5 are learning about caricature and exaggerating a feature on a person's face. We had fun with Abe Lincoln's face, shape, and beard...we are still working on these and doing great!

Our Younger students practiced tracing, cutting and gluing for our portraits. We also learned how to add a curled or torn paper beard.

Some of our second graders having fun...We love the camera!!!!!!!
