On Monday, April 25, the Onekama fourth grade class took part in a natural resources and seedling presentation. Presenters were Forester Dr. Josh Shields, Conservation Technician Chelsea Cooper, and Communications Administrator Kendra Dula; all with the Manistee Conservation District. Students learned about the lifecycle of a tree and participated in interactive activities during the presentation. Each fourth grader was gifted with their own sprout to take home to plant and also a bag of forestry goodies. The fourth grade class really enjoyed having presenters come into the classroom, as it’s their first presentation from an outside source in several years.
