Independent - Vocabulary Focus

You will need your Word Work book, a pencil and a red pen.

Choose a sentence strip.

Write the sentence in pencil in your book.

Now with your red pen, bump your sentence up by adding adjectives, verbs and stronger vocabulary. (You can do this by doing Steps 2, 3, and 4, or just jump straight to Step 4.

Repeat for 4 sentences.

Use your highlighter to highlight the words that you used to create a better than before sentence.

Term Two Independent Writing Sample

Today you will be completing a NARRATIVE for your Term Two Writing Sample. This is an independent piece of writing.

Here is the prompt that you will be exploring through your writing.

Think about what makes a great NARRATIVE. Think about your opening line/hook in, your sentence beginnings, your vocabulary choices, using a range of sentence types and lengths, using paragraphs and all the other things that you do well in your writing.

Once you have completed your planning, you will have 40mins to write.

Take your nail out of the container and sit it on a paper towel with the name of the environment that it has been in for the last week. Now take your photos.

These will be the last results that you add to your observations/results tables so please check that you have all the details.
