Do you know your colours in te reo? Let's find out with our Fitness activity.

Reading/Te wiki o te reo Maori

We will be exploring the poem, Ika a Whiro.

Before we get started we will explore the vocabulary in the glossary.

Now we will each;

  • Make a prediction - what do you think the poem will be about? What might happen? Explain why/because...

  • Share a connection - what do you already know about Weta or one of the other concepts that has come up from exploring the glossary

  • Ask a question/Share a wondering - what do you wonder about Weta?

  • Then we will read the poem, discuss the poem, and complete the reflection questions about the poem.

You will need your WORD WORK book, a pencil, a ruler, red pen and coloured pencils.

Carefully copy the whakatauki in Te Reo and English. Draw two kowhaiwhai patterns/borders, then rule off with a red pen.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori Kahoot

Let's test our knowledge of some kupu with two Kahoots. One is about Kai and the other is about classroom objects.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori & CyberSmart

This afternoon you will MAHI TAHI/Collaborate in a small group to take photos that show each of the ideas on the Photo Wero grid.

You will need to KAIWHAKARITE/Be a Self Manager to ensure that you get this learning activity completed before pack up time.

You will then create a Pic Collage or use Google Slides to share your photos. Each photo needs the caption from the grid on it.

Pick up Zone Preparation

We need to get packed up and ready to head over to the Big Side and our end of day pick up zones. This is something we will do every day. Your parents have all let me know your after school plans.

We will line up outside in the following order;

  • Zone 4 - walking, scootering, biking home

  • Zone 1 - School side Rua Street drop off/pick up zone

  • Zone 3 - Big side Car ark pick up zone

  • Zone 2 - Court side Rua Street pick up zone
