Friday 22nd February
EWWW! Mum was calling us to the table. All I could smell was the aroma of rotten cabbage, gross!
It was so mean how mum always served up brussel sprouts with our meals. She especially loved giving them to us with mashed potato, gravy and cabbage. Luckily there was a pork chop or lamb chop to munch on as well.
This dinner was just like any other with brussel sprouts. I tentatively walked to the table, my eyes glued to the sprouts staring at me looking disgusting and smelling like toe jam. I sat by Jess and we both shared a glance of disgust. Mum seemed to have a smile in her eyes, how evil!
"Eat me, eat me". The sprout was beckoning me but I was trying so hard to resist. I had nearly eaten all of my pork chop, man it was scrummy chewing on the fat. But I still had to swallow the sprouts. This was not going to be pretty.
I turned my body around and blocked my nose. This was going to be tough on my throat. Cautiously, I tried not to choke as I gulped the sprout down. Blocking my nose worked but the taste was still causing harm to my taste buds.
