Video games can be a leisure activity. Read to find out about the history of video games and complete the activities.
- While you are reading you need to insert or draw the symbols from the book mark onto the text. You need to have all the symbols on there - you may have some symbols more then once.
- Make a copy of the slides if you are a BYOD person and file into your reading folder. You are able to complete the activities on your copy of the slides.

AFTER READING
Create a list of jobs (think about jobs that aren't just part of being in a family) that you might do already or you could do and could be paid for. Think about how much you might like to be paid for these jobs and what you will need to do in these jobs. Use Google drawings to show creatively what you have thought of ( You need at least 5 jobs) Add to you blog when done.

On Page 45 what do you learn about the 2 boys after Anthony suggests it would be more fun if he and Jevan work together?
Page 46 and 47 - Locate all the ideas Anthony uses to help him earn money. Why does Anthony have a chart?
Why did Anthony put up his prices? How did that help him?
Form an opinion why Anthony kept some of the money from Mrs Lockharts job. Was it fair? Do you think he should have told Jevan he was doing that. Make this answer into a paragraph.

- Write full date (Monday 22nd June 2019) and title (Weekly Quiz - Term 2 Review) into you reading book and underline with a red pen and ruler.

- Read the journal story 'Between a rock and a hard place' Part 3 Number 2 2011
- Complete a Venn Diagram comparing NZ to South Africa - you may have to use your researching skills to find out information about SA and NZ.
- Complete the making connections graphic organizer - use the questions along the side to help you make connections to the text. How can you make connections to the conflict in the story?
- Complete the comprehension questions that go along with the story.
- 'Between a rock and a hard place' is an idiom. Find out what an idiom is and what are some other examples of idioms are HINT: The video to the left may help you. Using Google Drawings, tell us what an idiom is and some well known idioms and what they mean. Add this drawing to your blog.

- We are focusing on reading for information, being able to answer literal questions (the answer is in the text), Inferential question (we have to read between the lines and use the clues to work out the answer) and evaluative questions (do you agree or disagree with the authors point of view and why)
- Read the journal article and watch the video clip
- Write the full date in your reading book and use 3 lines to write the title - give it some colour with pencil OR Open a doc on your device, write the date and title OR click on the button, make a copy and complete in slides
- Answer ALL the questions. You don't have to write the questions BUT YOU DO NEED TO - answer the questions in full and make sure you write/type the title of each section. Make sure you underline the titles in your book or on your doc.
