The Longest Bridge
The Longest Bridge
TASK: You and your group need to build a bridge which must sit on the back of 2 chairs facing outwards. The bridge must be as long as possible but strong enough to support a 500g weight.
- The bridge must be able to support 500g weight on the middle of the bridging deck
- The bridge must be between the 2 chairs and not touch the ground
- It must be made only of materials provided
- Team members must not support the bridge in any way during judging
- The weight will be placed on the bridge by the judge

Today we are going to practice being a SELF MANAGER and a COLLABORATOR
- You will be in teams of 4
- You will have the following equipment - 6 biodegradable straws, 1 plastic plate, some newspaper and some sheets of brown paper, a limited amount of cellotape
- In your team, you need to design and make a construction to protect an egg - we will drop the eggs to see who has worked best in a team! The aim is not to crack the egg!!

Your challenge in your combined Ako whanau groups is to create a wheel using sheets of newspaper and cellotape
- Your whole team must be able to fit inside the wheel
- You must only use the materials of newspaper and cellotape
- You must collaborate and work out how you can make the paper wheel move with you all inside it and without ripping the paper! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
- The team to do it without breaking their wheel and the fastest will be the winner

- Watch the video - what are some tips for dealing with conflict so we don't get angry all the time?
- With a buddy design a slide/drawing poster with these tips on them and then share to one of your blogs. Remember to include both names and on there. Remember to have some writing about what you did, what you enjoyed, what you learnt and what you want to learn more about.
