How do we teach reading and writing?
At Mangapapa School we base our teaching and learning around what learners strengths, interests and needs are.
At Mangapapa School we teach reading and writing in a variety of ways throughout a day. Our learners read all sorts of different texts and these are in a variety of forms. Our learners write for a range of purposes and in all sorts of ways.
Across our Learning Neighbourhoods, learners will be exposed to Guided Reading, Shared Reading, Independent Reading, Reciprocal Reading, Partner Reading, Reading using a device, Reading to self, Writing with a device, Shared Writing, Guided Writing, Collaborative Writing, Word Work, Writing to self.
