Manaiakalani Teacher Only Day Friday April 16th 2021

Venue Glen Taylor School

He karere mai i ō tātou Tumuaki

Covid may have ruined our Teacher Only Day in 2020 but this time Manaiakalani have told Covid that we are bigger and stronger and we WILL be having a Teacher Only Day in 2021!  Friday 16 April at Glen Taylor School we will be having a Teacher Only Day with a focus on Literacy - especially Reading.  Why do we need this?  The data collected over the years has shown that there is a mismatch between our writing and reading achievement.  We refuse to accept this and MUST do something about it.  That something is  an opportunity to learn from the best.  Who better to learn from than our own experts.  We have 30 of the finest educators running 45min workshops throughout the day.  The best part is that they are our own.  Educators that know our tamariki, know our community, know our successes and know our challenges.  These people will give you strategies that you can implement immediately into your practice.  If that isn't enough the inspirational Dr Rae Si'ilata is our Keynote Speaker. If that isn't enough we have an amazing lunch and social gathering at the end of the day with drinks, nibbles and amazing prizes up for grabs.  We look forward to hosting you on the 16th of April 2021!
