Manaiakalani schools have selected Google Workspace as our cloud based solution to support learning.
All Google Workspace services are managed within each school's domain and Hāpara Teacher dashboard.
The use of Google Apps not included in Google Workspace or any third party applications, by students, requires schools and teachers to consider the legal and administrative implications of students accessing these Apps to support The Manaiakalani Learn, Create, Share pedagogy.
Most third party applications have age restrictions for children under 13 to legally sign up for an account.
For example: Manaiakalani has protocols and recommendations for the use of the following Apps not included in Google Workspace for Education.
* Gemini app and NotebookLM, AI-powered Google Workspace Core Services have expanded to support all ages from August 2025.
The Gemini app, previously available only to Google Workspace for Education users age 13 or older is now available for all ages
NotebookLM, previously available only to Google Workspace for Education users age 18 or older, is available for all ages.
Before asking learners to use any Apps not included in Google Workspace or other third party applications, including *AI, we recommend the following considerations.
