Mr. Relation

Mr. Relation joined Malone Middle School in 2009 as a member of the Social Studies Department. Prior to his tenure at Malone Middle School, he worked as a substitute teacher. Mr. Relation has worked with students in courses such as 7th and 8th Grade US History & Government, as well as serving in the capacity of PBIS/Fun Day Co-Coordinator, Malone Federation of Teachers Building Representative, MMS School Improvement Committee Member, and Chair of the Grading & Assessment PLC among other activities relating the MMS.

Born and raised in the North Country, Mr. Relation attended Northern Adirondack High School, earned his Combined Bachelors of Arts degree in History and Masters in the Science of Teaching from Plattsburgh State University.

Mr. Relation continues his education through continual professional development at conferences such as NYSCATE, the Effective Schools Conference, and by sitting on the New York State Curriculum Development Network for Social Studies. He is also currently completing a program at the Massachusetts College Of Liberal Arts to obtain his School Building and District Level Leadership credentials.

He is a member of the Altona Fire Commission which oversee the emergency management and fire prevention services of the town of Altona and all yearly operating expenses. he enjoys spending time with family, vacationing in warmer weather, and spending time enjoying the region by camping, hiking, and kayaking!

Mr. Relation believes that the most important goal of education is to prepare students for the future that does not yet exist. As educators, he feels that our duty is to help students understand how to work collaboratively and think globally when addressing real world problems that they will face in their future careers.
