Ms. LaVine joined Malone Middle School in 2009 as a member of the Math department. Prior to her tenure at MMS, Amy worked/taught at Holy Family School (4th Grade) from 2007-2009. Ms. LaVine has worked with students in courses such as Math 7 and Accelerated Math 7, as well as serving in the capacity of Advisor to Student Council, Jr. SADD, and National Jr. Honor Society. She also coaches Modified Swimming during the Fall and is a volunteer assistant coach to JV Softball in the Spring.
Born and raised in Malone, NY Ms. LaVine attended Franklin Academy High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Plattsburgh State University in 2004 majoring in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and Mathematics (Grade 7-12). She holds a Master of Science in Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
Mrs. LaVine continues her education through participating in workshops offered by the school and attending Staff Development Days. She is the recipient of Teacher of the Year Award for MMS in 2014. She is a member/chaperone of Travel Club, which takes students overseas to different countries to learn about educational experiences outside of the classroom. She was also a member of the Anti-Bullying Committee.
