Ms. Iby

Ms. Iby joined Malone Middle School in 2001 as a member of the ELA Department. Prior to her tenure at MMS, Mrs. Iby taught in the Math Department as a consultant AIS teacher.

Ms. Iby has worked with students in courses such as English, as well as serving in the capacity of Student Council Advisor from 2002 to 2006, MMS Social Committee Chair, MFT Social Committee Chair, MFT Vice-President from 2012- present, and STEAM Education Pioneer.

Born and raised in Malone, Mrs. Iby attended Franklin Academy High School, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at SUNY Plattsburgh in Secondary Education, English 7-12 with a concentration in English literature. She holds a Master of Science degree in Reading.

Mrs. Iby continues her education through district professional development, attending the ISTE National Conference, and visiting “Schools To Watch”. Her students’ work has been published in the Young People’s Poetry Series.

She is a member of District Wide School Improvement Committee, The Professional Development Committee, The Franklin County Career Connect Board, and has volunteered with Catholic Charities, The Chamber of Commerce, and Literacy Volunteers of Franklin County.

Mrs. Iby believes in the quote by Aristotle that “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”
