About this session

Format: Lecture with Q + A

Description: Systemic racism spans centuries in Maine, just as it does in all parts of the United States. The battles we fight now have been hundreds of years in the making, and the Black Lives Matter protests this summer forced a reckoning about racism and white supremacy many Americans and Mainers had never confronted. In this presentation, we will talk about how we see systemic racism in Maine in the present day, and we will highlight opportunities to stay engaged in this transformational movement right here in Maine.
