Drama and Communications

Taking a Drama or Communications class gives each student a chance to see themselves in art and the art in themselves. While creating theatre students learn self-confidence, imagination, empathy, cooperation, concentration, communication skills, how to have fun, memorization and an appreciation for arts and culture.

About me

Ms. Hall is a proud teacher and director who has been in the classroom for the past 30 years. In 2000, she found her home at Maine East High School. For the past 30 years she has been striving to create a challenging curriculum in the theatre classroom. She currently teaches Drama 1, Drama 2, Drama 3-4 and Theatre Communication. Next year she will be teaching the new Communication for Careers course. She served as the Executive Director of the 2010 Illinois High School Theatre Festival and directed and choreographed the IHSTF 2015 production of Pippin. In 2015 she was nominated for The Tony Award® for Excellence in Theatre Education She wouldn’t be here without the support of her amazing colleagues and friends. And her fur babies Millie & Pippin!
