Creating Recorded Videos with Zoom

Zoom is a great tool for online-live meetings and classes, but can also be used to record video lecture and presentations. Get started with Zoom recording using the two videos following, and learn more about using Zoom in your online course in our CTEL Zoom Guide for Faculty.

Editing and Embedding Video and Audio with Katura

All University of Southern Maine faculty have access to Kaltura, where you can upload, manage, edit, and easily integrate video and audio into your Bightspace course. To learn more about using Kaltura, visit the CTEL Kaltura Guide for Faculty .

Lightboard Recording Studio

The lightboard is a glass “whiteboard” to create video lectures for hybrid or online courses. Instructors can write out ideas, concepts, and equations just like in face to face classrooms, but with the added benefit of facing the camera. Our Online Learning Support Specialist has done all the hard work setting up our lightboard space to be easy and intuitive to use; just turn on, plug in your thumb drive, and record!

How can I get access to this tool?

There are many ways for faculty to become acquainted with the lightboard:

Once you’ve been trained on the technology, you’ll be given swipe-card access and the ability to schedule time in the lightboard studio.

Vault Recording Studio

CTEL’s Vault Recording Studio, located on the 2nd floor of the Glickman Library, is set up with equipment and soundproofing for faculty to record and/or edit videos or podcasts. Faculty can reserve the space during Library hours. Email ctelhelp@maine.edu to schedule your time.
