On September 16th, students from the Photography and Film Technology Department had a unique opportunity to participate in an insightful and creative workshop led by the START IT UP Youth Start Stop Project team. The event, held in the screening room of Building 25, aimed to prepare students for creating a trailer for the “Find My Hero” campaign. The team shared their knowledge and experiences on various interesting topics.
During the event, the team presented topics including:
What is a Trailer?: Teaching students the importance of trailers and how to create engaging ones.
Out-of-the-Box Thinking Techniques: Lecturer Joe from a Creative Agency shared eight unique tips for creative thinking, helping students develop work that stands out and has its own identity.
Trailer Workshop: Students participated in creating trailers, exchanging ideas with their peers, and developing their creativity collaboratively.
This activity also served to promote the “Find My Hero” campaign, which invites students to create trailers inspired by heroes in their communities. The campaign includes a competition with many prizes up for grabs, providing an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their filmmaking and storytelling skills while drawing inspiration from the positive stories around them.
