Bulk email delete not working as described

Hello:

I want to bulk-delete 25,000 messages in a folder. Instructions say that when I check the "select all" box toward the top of the page, a link should appear just to the right of the box, in blue font, offering for me to "select all conversations in folder" [or, some have stated the checkbox itself may have an option for "select all conversations"].

My problem is that the blue link is not coming up, nor do I have a checkbox option to "select all conversations."  So, I am stuck deleting 25k emails in batches of 50! (nooooo!)

I have tried this on Google Chrome and on Internet Explorer but no joy. My screen just does not look like others' screenshots, it does not have the "select all conversations" link.

Trying to bulk delete emails. I want everthing gone and when I go to click on the select all and the little pop up comes on. I then click on that it wont let me delete 60,000 emails. Or at lease when I click on it, the emails litterally go nowhere.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me!

the problem is google wont allow such a large deletion as this is what hackers would normally do   the recommended action is to do a search and delete a few thousand emails at a time     a date search would be the easiest : About Gmail search   Using advanced search   someone else suggested this https://gist.github.com/gene1wood/0f455239490e5342fa49  , ive never tried it
