Phytoplankton Ecology, Life cycles and Host-Virus Interactions
In our group, at the Interuniversity Institute of Marine Sciences in Eilat and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel), we investigate the diversity and the private lives of microorganisms from the oceans, their seasonal dynamics and interplay with environmental abiotic and biotic factors namely viruses.
Our research spans from seagoing oceanography for sample collection and experimentation to physiology and cell biology to understand the mechanisms underlying ecological patterns.
