Welcome to Claire's English Language Fellowship portfolio, which gives information and resources on the various projects she has worked on during her Fellowships. 

She has reached over 2,500 teachers, students, & other key audiences with over 75 workshops and programs. 


The English Language Fellowship is a program of the English Language Programs, funded by the U.S. Department of State.

About Claire

Claire Lee completed her second-year as an English Language Fellow at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo working with the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education in June 2024. She is a professionally licensed English teacher with ESL endorsement in the United States. She has 12 years of teaching, curriculum development, and teacher training experience. Claire earned her Master of Education from Harvard University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Secondary Education from Wellesley College.  

She has taught in the United States, South Africa, Vietnam, and virtually in China and the Philippines. She was a Fulbright ETA scholarship recipient and a Virtual English Language Fellow through the U.S. State Department. She has lectured in Teaching Methodology, English as a Medium of Instruction, English as a Foreign Language, and Academic English.

 The English Language Fellow Program is the premier opportunity for experienced teachers of English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) to enact meaningful and sustainable changes in the way that English is taught abroad, and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) with funding provided by the U.S. government.
