There are so many events in history that shape the way people live today. The disability rights movement is a collection of such events that continues to this day. We cannot begin to cover all aspects of the disability rights movement, but we are going to begin learning about this incredible movement through the voice of disability activist, Judy Heumann.
This week, you will watch a video where Judy shares part of her experience living during the start of the disability rights movement. You will also read an article summarizing the disability rights movement. As you move through the content this week, think about far we have come in the disability rights movement and how far we still have to go.
