Semester 1: Week 5

Autism is a spectrum which means that each autistic person experiences autism differently. When it comes to communication, some people with autism may not use speech to communicate while other autistic people may talk a lot. Some autistic people use tools to communicate called augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. Learning about these communication differences will help you to better understand your friends with autism. 

Through this week’s videos, you will continue to learn about what autism is and you will hear from autistic people about how they communicate.
