Self-advocacy is essentially standing up for yourself and expressing your needs. The video you will watch this week features children from different backgrounds who share their unique experiences of the autistic spectrum in their own words. How they openly share their experiences and perspectives in a positive manner is considered “self-advocacy.” You will also read about self-advocacy on the Autistic Self Advocacy Network website.
