Ren has just moved from the bustling town of Chicago to the small town of Bomont. He is a fun-loving young man who seems to be attracting trouble in his new environment. His humor and sensitivity eventually win over the town of Bomont and he in turn finds his place in Bomont while also gaining some closure on the event of his father's sudden departure.
Ariel Moore (Female Presenting)- Lead

The character of Ariel will need to be primarily a strong actor and dancer. She will also need moderate singing capabilities.
Ariel is a feisty young woman who has lived in Bomont her entire life. She yearns to move away from the small-minded life Bomont offers. She is the daughter of Reverend Moore whom she consistently rebels against. She is almost immediately interested in Ren and all of the new experiences and excitement he brings to her life.
Reverend Shaw Moore (Male Presenting)- Lead
Baritone
The character of Reverend Moore will need to be a strong singer and actor. He will need limited dancing abilities.
Reverend Moore is the spiritual leader of the Bomont Community, and he also has some civic influence over the town. To cope with the heartbreaking loss of his son he buries himself in the word of God however, the pairing leads to some irrational views. He has problems communicating with his daughter Ariel, he still loves her very much but has problems expressing it.
Willard Hewitt (Male Presenting)- Supporting Lead
Baritone/Tenor
The character of Willard will need to be a strong actor and dancer. He will also need to be a moderate singer. Has an exaggerated country accent.
Willard is Ren's best friend, he is very loyal to and protective of the people he cares about. This can sometimes get him into trouble. And even though he talks big to his friends, he gets very shy when talking to girls.
Rusty (Female Presenting)- Supporting Lead

The character of Rusty will need to be a strong singer and actor. She will also need to be a moderate dancer.
Ariel's goofy best friend who has always got her back. She has a long-lasting crush on Willard.
Violet Moore (Female Presenting)- Supporting Lead

The character of Violet will need to be a strong singer and actor. She will need limited dancing abilities.
Violet or Vi is the wife of Reverend Moore and although she is very supportive, she does have her own opinions. She is a very kind but, strong-willed person.
Chuck Cranston (Male Presenting)- Supporting Character

This character needs to be a strong actor and a moderate singer/dancer.
Chuck is Ariel's boyfriend; he has a very rough exterior and acts very tough. This is to hide his insecurities and his toxic masculinity as he becomes very demanding and jealous once Ren comes into town.

The character of Ethel needs to be a strong singer and actor. She will need limited dancing abilities.
Ren's mother tries her best to stay strong for her son after the unexpected departure of her husband. She does occasionally let her emotions shine through.
