Math Aerospace Academy

Math Aerospace Academy is managed through the Office of Community Based Learning and operates under the NASA Aerospace Academy at Fresno State. The program is offered on six Saturdays in the Fall and Spring to students in grades 1st - 6th.

Curriculum will include age and grade appropriate hands-on activities, based on NASA themes that support mathematics. These activities nurture development of 21st century skills including communication, collaboration and innovation. The enhancement activities reinforces engineering content and themes to help teach students the engineering design process. Students will engage in problem-based learning as they explore and problem solve, including opportunities for coding and robotics. Focus will be given to activities that develop and nurture mathematical concepts and reasoning to include fractions, decimals, percent, measurement, estimation, and pre-algebra.

Each class is limited to 20 students to maximize individual attention and to allow adequate time for practice. Learners participate in two 90-minute classes each day.

PROGRAM DATES: 1/11, 1/25, 2/1, 2/15, 2/29, & 3/14

TIME: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

FEE: $25 per day or all 6 days for $130 (SAVE $20)
