HOSA Dental and Nursing Students Brave the Weather for Danville’s Annual Crop Walk
HOSA Dental and Nursing students braved the weather as they walked in the rain down West Main Street to raise money and bring awareness to world and local hunger. Money raised will help local area food banks such as God’s Storehouse feed the hungry of our community. These students continue learn what it means to continue to good citizens and leaders in their community.
Surprise… Right on Time! Pick Me Up Meal For Schoolfield Teacher Jags
Schoolfield teacher and staff jags were presented with a pick-me-up meal this week sponsored by our Schoolfield PTA. Mrs. Beasley, our PTA president sure knows how to cook up the best food for our teachers and staff! Our teachers and staff enjoyed chicken wings, deli sandwiches, mac n’ cheese, green beans, pasta salad, and cookies!
On Wednesday October 5, students at GWHS and Galileo heard about the importance of voting from the City of Danville registrar and were given the opportunity to register to vote! There were over 50 students who registered to vote!
Friday Fun Day at Westwood
Westwood celebrated the end of the nine weeks with Friday Fun Day for Students and Faculty to reward a great academic start to the school year. Go Tigers!

First in Math
Congratulations to Ms. Chelsea Hogan’s class, who won Team of the Month for the First In Math Program. Her students solved 6,321 problems! Her student, Teon Bradley, has been awarded the Player of the Month distinction, solving 1,548 problems! We are so proud of the Gibson Bulldogs!

Westwood Celebrated Fall Spirit Week with Hat Day as the PE Students in Ms Ellis and Coach Perdue’s classes used their new Health Text books for their Health Unit
PBIS Celebration
Bonner Middle School held our first PBIS celebration today. We are striving to reward our students for maintaining good behavior in the school environment. Students were able to select their rooms based on their personal preferences. Go Bonner Broncos!
Stage Makeup Practice
This week Theater Arts students in 6th, 7th, 8th, practiced creating basic stage makeup looks, as well as special effects makeup like wounds and bruises.
Park Avenue Chalk Walk
Students met the attendance goal set for the month of September! To celebrate, all students had the opportunity to participate in a chalk walk today. As you can see in the photos, students absolutely LOVED this event!
Hispanic Heritage Month at Park Avenue
On Thursday, October 6, 2022, Park Avenue Elementary School celebrated Hispanic Heritage month by having a fiesta! Over 90 students and their families enjoyed tacos, piñatas, a bounce house, frasco de estimación de frijol (bean estimation jar), claw machine, dominos, tin art, and more!
Schoolfield Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
Schoolfield celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by creating works of art inspired by Hispanic music and art. Our Kindergarten and 1st-grade students made guitars and decorated them using traditional embroidery patterns used in Mexico. While our 2nd and 3rd graders created Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead portraits that helped them learn about the holiday which encourages us to remember our ancestors and to celebrate life. 4th grade created traditional Mexican Tin Art using aluminum foil and paper plates. Lastly, our 5th graders created their own traditional Amate paintings, where they used crumpled brown paper instead of the usual tree bark.
