Our local Sam's Club donated the following Personal Protective Equipment to the division:
2,352 individual units of hand sanitizer
1,152 face shields
336 protection kits that contain 2 face shields, 2 mask & 1 bottle of anti fog spray
231 kids character face shields
These items would retail for $6,445 at Sam's Club! Thank you to John Jasko, the Merchandising Manager, and the entire Sam's team for your commitment to our 5,500 students and 1,100 employees. With more students coming back to face-to-face instruction in August, these supplies will come in handy. Fun fact - Mr. Jasko's wife, Anna, is a DPS employee! #ParternshipsMatter
At the May 6th school board meeting, Noblis and EBI LLC Danville VA received the Virginia School Boards Association's (VSBA) Business Honor Roll Award.
The award shows appreciation for their ongoing support of DPS and our programs and initiatives. Their work has aided this community on focusing on the goal of providing the best public schools we can for every child who attends them.

Judith Brown's 1st grade class at Woodberry is planning to sell the veggies at the Community Market and save the coins in their banks that commemorate Maggie Lena Walker, the first Black woman to become president of a bank (Richmond, Va.). The children also sorted, identified, and determined the value of the coins they’ve collected so far.
Look for the DPS table at both of these events. We will be there promoting PreK and Kindergarten registration!
Danville Public Schools has been offered, through SOVAH, a chance to get students 12 and older vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. We sent the below links to students to see if they would like the COVID-19 vaccine, with the permission of their custodial parent. If you are a DPS employee and you have a child (12 and over) who attends DPS, please let us know if your child would like to be vaccinated by taking the survey and completing the consent form in the link below.

We know you are eager to put away the masks. However, we must wait a little longer to get guidance from Governor Northam and/or the VDOE. Thanks for your patience! Please read the most recent guidance from the CDC - When You Have Been Fully Vaccinated
