Congratulations Falcons!
Family, friends and school officials gathered at Averett University’s North Campus to celebrate Galileo Magnet High School’s Class of 2022 on Friday, June 10.
Nearly 60 students received their diplomas during Friday’s ceremony. The class amassed more than $4.9 million in scholarships earned from various colleges, universities and other institutions.

Averett University’s North Campus was filled with parents, family, friends and school staff on Friday for George Washington High School’s graduation ceremony for the Class of 2022.
At the ceremony, 191 students received their diplomas.

Chorus Banquet at Taylor
On Saturday, May 4th, students, parents, and families attended I.W. Taylor's very first Chorus Banquet. Students received awards and recognition for their hard work this school year. 8th grade students who were not able to attend were recognized through Virtual Academy's promotion drive by. We are so proud of our students!

End of the Year fun at Taylor
The I.W. Taylor Virtual Academy recently held a PBIS Attendance Booster Event and a Staff kickball game and luncheon. The Otterbots mascot joined in on the fun, and Italian Icee’s were a refreshing treat.
Fun Day at Schoolfield Elementary
Jaguars at Schoolfield enjoyed a day filled with water balloons, old school games including a large Connect Four and corn hole, and face painting from our art teacher, Ms. Ouzts, and parent volunteers, thanks to the Schoolfield's PTA. Jaguars also enjoyed bouncy houses and an inflatable obstacle course. Not only did students enjoy themselves, but staff members also did as well! After a fun-filled day, students enjoyed a cool ice cream treat to end the day!
Awards ceremonies at Schoolfield
Parents were welcomed back into the doors of Schoolfield to celebrate the achievements and promotions of their students. Many students were awarded achievements including Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Highest Achiever Awards, Citizenship, and the Principal’s Award. Families had the opportunity to take pictures with their students at a photo booth and celebrate their accomplishments together. Fifth-grade Jaguars had a special evening ceremony that ended with cupcakes to celebrate their promotion to sixth grade. We will miss our Jaguars moving on to middle school!
Recognition of Schoolfield Retirees
Schoolfield retirees were recognized for their dedication and time at Schoolfield at the end of the year staff dinner. Retirees were recognized with a special table reserved for them, flower arrangements, and a gift card of appreciation. Each retiree was also recognized with a slideshow presentation that featured their work experiences and a small message from a special colleague. Other Schoolfield staff members were given their service pins and teachers were awarded superlatives. The superlatives awarded included the Elmer’s Glue award (The person that holds the school together), the teacher most likely to be the first one at school, and awards for a teacher who boosts morale around the school.
