The 2019 United Way campaign officially kicks off next week. In honor of the kickoff, I will be announcing a special fundraiser in next week's Friday Feature that I hope you will like. Also, I will be bringing forms by your school/facility very soon . Last year, we raised $15,200. Our goal this year is $17,000 - please help DPS reach this goal as the United Way is "still the best way to give." For more information about the United Way, click here.

So, this happened this week. As I was touring and taking photos at Northside Preschool, I went into a classroom to see what was happening. The kids wanted to take photos with my camera. Needless to say, we have some budding photographers at DPS.

Meet our newest GED Graduate, George Schneider. George is from Germany and currently resides in Ruffin, NC with his lovely wife. Although George graduated this week, he will continue to work with us to prepare for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). His goal is to obtain a score on this exam that will allow him to enter the service at a higher level. ACEC is excited about helping him reach this goal, and we certainly appreciate the service he will provide our nation!
If you would like to be our next success story, please call Mary Dumont at 434.799.6471 or just stop by our center on Goode Street.
