Thank you to the Danville Police Department for engaging with our students on the first day of school.
Pictured in the first image below is a Woodrow Wilson student receiving her backpack from Morgan Epstein, a Rotary Representative. The second picture shows Dianne Locker, with Chalk Talk, interviewing Rotary member Son Wolen.
From 6:00 am until 5:00 pm on Thursday, August 9 and from 6:00 am until lunchtime on Friday, August 10 staff processed and returned to the schools 245 transportation bus assignment and stop change requests. This was in addition to answering the phone non-stop the entire time. Also, two of our staff members in the main office had to drive a bus in the morning or afternoon as well. The department also processed about 100 school requests on Wednesday, August 8. These numbers do not include the large number of Special Needs changes that were made the last three days. This kind of effort is exceptional and is a great example of our commitment to provide support to our schools, students, and parents.
