Books for Kids
This week, the Books for Kids program continued handing out books to kindergarteners at Forest Hills and Gibson Elementary Schools, and students had the opportunity to read with partners. We thank Charles and Carol Majors, Leggett Town and Country, and W&W Luxury Limousine Service for donating these books for our students to have as their own and take home to read with their families. We appreciate your support of our students and their reading journeys!

Johnson second graders decorate, hunt for eggs
The Sensational Second Grade Team at G.L.H. Johnson Elementary School was busy learning and exploring. The students planted seeds and recorded their observations in their plant journals. They will spend the next couple of weeks recording their observations and illustrating pictures of their plants. The students made Easter Egg Bunny Cups to hold their pet eggs. They were beaming with joy because they dyed and decorated their own eggs. They wrote adjectives on their bubble maps to help them to describe their eggs. To cap it off, the students raced anxiously as they hunted for over 500 eggs.
Gator Adults hunt for eggs
The Gator Hospitality Members had a fun time racing and looking for eggs. The lucky "You are some BUNNY special" winners are Mrs. Lutz and Mrs. Jones. The lucky MONEY winners were Ms. Withespoon, Mrs. Vasquez, and Mr. Orange. We are never too old to have a good time!

Gibson first graders learn about animal habitats
First graders have been learning about Science 1.5a - Animals have basic life needs to survive and their habitats they live in. Students were asked to create an animal habitat at home over Spring Break and then bring them to class to share.
These are just some of the projects that Mrs. Bryan's first grade class created. Each student came up, told what animal they had picked, the habitat they lived in, and some interesting facts about that animal.
