Sparkle Fuller-Ogoh is a native of Caswell County, where she was educated and began her passion of fashion. As a young girl, Sparkle used to enjoy cutting up old bedding sheets, creating them into simple dress designs held together by ties and safety pins. Now living here in Danville, Sparkle works as a Instructional Paraprofessional and the head cheerleading coach at Westwood Middle School all while being an entrepreneur.
Sparkle is the founder/owner of S & L Designs based here in Danville. She holds an A.A.S. degree in Education from Danville Community College where she was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa in 2015. She began designing for the everyday working women and young girls in 2012 when she was inspired to assist them in building self-confidence and self awareness through fashion!
Sparkle thrives on her belief that clothes are an outward expression of one's inner beauty. She also believes that creating unique one of a kind styles for her clients, gives them the extra boost of confidence that they may not receive on a regular basis and that they wholeheartedly deserve. Her company motto is "It doesn’t have to match, it just has to go."
Sparkle’s designs have been featured in shows in the southern Virginia area like Church Girls Rock presented by ENH, Walk of the Town Youth Edition, the 2nd and 3rd Annual Danville Fashion Week all presented by B.O.M.A, and the 2nd Annual Cultural Arts Extravaganza Fashion Show presented by The Broken Women Foundation.
Since the start of it all Sparkle has always dreamed of one day having her garments showcased in New York Fashion Week, which is on of the greatest fashion shows held in the world. Here seven years later Sparkle has been chosen to showcase her Spring/Summer collection in the 2019 Spring/Summer Designer Debut of New York Fashion Week this September. Sparkle stated “Dreams do come true, you just have to be patient and keep the faith.”

Back in February, WDBJ7 and WSLS did a story on the HBCU Drum Corp at Bonner Middle School. Hargrave band director Tyler Selden, a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, saw the news story about the drum corps' need for more instruments, so he reached out to the middle school. As a result, retired instruments from Hargrave Military Academy's inventory were delivered to the drum corps on Thursday afternoon!
"That story touched me in a way that I thought I could share with my students: helping out in our community," Selden said. "I'm hoping the example that I set, and our school sets, for our students will impress upon them those types of lessons."
