The renovations of the Music Room at Woodrow Wilson Intermediate School are now complete! The keyboards in the Piano Lab have been set up and are now ready to go. Here we have three of Mr. Castillo's students who were very eager to try them out and are quite ecstatic about getting to learn how to play piano during their next music class!

The Science Lab's 8th graders at Westwood made electromagnets using batteries, copper wire, nails, and safety pins. Students varied the number of coils, which changed the strength of the electromagnet. And for those of us who haven't a clue, an electromagnet is a temporary magnet only becoming magnetized when electricity is passing through it. All the students were very excited about their electric success!

In review for the 8th Grade Science SOL in Mrs. Hartman's class at Bonner Middle School, students were reviewing the concept of Cell Division. When pictures and notes were not cutting it, we took to the Commons Area to act out the basic movement that cells go through during Cell Division. Students were split into groups and acted as the Cell Membrane and DNA of the cell in order to fully understand what happens during Cell Division.
