My name is Bophany Huot, but please call me Bo.
ESL 184 is the second of four-level composition courses. We will focus on academic reading, grammar, and writing. For the fall semester of 204, I am teaching one fully online (asynchronous) class with one Zoom meeting per week and one in-person class. Both classes are ESL 184.

REQUIREMENTS
12 hours per week to complete ESL 184 homework

Catalog/Course Description
Training and practice in high-intermediate reading and writing with emphasis on language structure and vocabulary development for non-native speakers of English. Practice in reading passages from a variety of academic genres used to support written work. Practice in a variety of writing tasks at the high intermediate level. High-intermediate language skills integrated on the basis of academic tasks and content.
All online and in-person courses require the use of Canvas.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to
Use a variety of high intermediate reading and critical thinking skills and strategies to analyze and interpret a range of authentic multi-paragraph texts of limited complexity
Compose and develop multi-paragraph written texts.
Employ a variety of high-intermediate academic vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar.
Select a variety of strategies to support academic written work.
