ALGEBRA II REGENTS - 03310 - 1 CREDIT

Prerequisites: Credit in Algebra I and Geometry along with passing scores on both the Algebra I and Geometry Common Core Regents Exams.

Description: Students generally experience success in this class if they averaged a grade of 80% or better in Algebra and Geometry. This is a very challenging course that includes the study of polynomial, rational and radical relationships, functions and trigonometric functions and inferences and conclusions from data. The intent of this course is to develop a student’s mathematical reasoning ability in problem solving. A graphing calculator is a course requirement. This course ends in a Regents examination. Successful completion of this course should prepare a student for more advanced math classes such as pre-calculus.



ALGEBRA II HONORS - 03315 - 1 CREDIT

Prerequisites: Teacher Recommendation

Credit: Math

Description: Students generally experience success in this class if they averaged a grade of 90% or better in Algebra and Geometry Honors and scored at least a 90% on both the Regents Exams. This is a very challenging course that includes the study of polynomial, rational and radical relationships, functions and trigonometric functions and inferences and conclusions from data. The intent of this course is to develop a student’s mathematical reasoning ability in problem solving. The pace of this course is fast and the material is explored in depth. A graphing calculator is a course requirement. This course ends in a Regents examination. Successful completion of this course should prepare a student for more advanced math classes such as pre-calculus.
