Voter Registration Information:

Qualifications to Register to Vote:

• be a United States Citizen

• be 18 years old by the time of the vote;

• be a resident of the Mahopac Central School District for at least 30 days before the election;

• not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction (unless the parolee is pardoned or restored rights of citizenship);

• not be adjudged mentally incompetent by a court;

• not claim the right to vote elsewhere.

Where can I register to Vote? 

• You can register in person or online through the Putnam County Board of Elections

• You may also submit your voter application form at the Department of Motor Vehicles

• You can call 1-800-FOR-VOTE hotline to request a voter application.

• Personal Registration (School only): You can also register to vote during any school day during school hours and on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM with Melody LaRocca, District Clerk at the Mahopac Central Office, 100 Myrtle Avenue, Mahopac, NY 10541

Types of Voters and Ballot Applications: 

• Military Voters:

• Military voters who are not currently registered may apply to register as a qualified voter of the district.  Military voters may apply to register with the District Clerk by completing the Military Voter Registration Application and emailing it to District Clerk Melody LaRocca at laroccam@mahopac.org

• Registered Military voters may submit a Military Absentee Ballot Application to receive a military absentee ballot

• Applications must be received by April 23, 2026.

• Permanently Disabled Voters:

• Absentee Ballots for Permanently Disabled voters will be sent out by the District Clerk automatically. 

• Early Voting Voters: 

• Early Voter Applications are available to registered voters who would like to cast their vote prior to election day. 

• You can not apply for an Absentee Ballot Application if you apply for Early Voting Application. 

• Applications may be accepted by District Clerk after April 20, 2026.

• Absentee Voters:

• Absentee Ballots Applications are available to registered voters who will not be in the district during the day of the budget vote for reasons below:  

(1) absent from the county of his or her residence; or

(2) unable to appear at the polling place because of illness or physical disability, or duties related to the primary care of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled, or because he or she will be or is a patient in a hospital; or 

(3) an inmate or patient of a veteran’s administration hospital; or

(4) absent from his or her voting residence because he or she is detained in jail awaiting action by a grand jury or awaiting trial, or confined in jail or prison after a conviction for an offense other than a felony

• Applications may be accepted by District Clerk after April 20, 2026.

Early Mail Applications and Absentee Ballot Applications are available by downloading them (above) or from Melody LaRocca, District Clerk via email at laroccam@mahopac.org.  Upon receipt of your application, the District Clerk will provide an Absentee Ballot for you to cast your vote.

        Applications may received by the District Clerk after April 20, 2026.

All ballots must be received by the District Clerk by May 19, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
