The dragon sleeps,
once again peaceful,
and doesn’t hear the footsteps
The broken eggs,
cracked and torn,
are no longer worth protecting
The moon dragon,
again slumbering in the nestled cave
doesn’t see the long silvery spear
But it is heard for miles,
when the spear slams down,
and the moon dragon roars
The tip splinters,
and the explorers freeze in fear,
when the dragon once again awakens
The claws slash,
screams and cries of earth’s bravest fill the air
this time she won’t let them return
The dragon settles around her broken eggs
Content to sleep again
And the humans know nothing
