1. CLUB ECO-GUARDIANS
Society for Environmental Awareness
Objective:
To raise environmental awareness and promote nature preservation through educational activities.
Activities: (Any one activity per academic year)
1. Clean-Up Drives:
Conducted a clean-up drive in front of the department to promote environmental responsibility.
2. Nature Walks and Hikes:
Organize regular nature walks and hikes to local parks/ forests/ and conservation areas to educate students about local flora and fauna.
3. Workshops and Lectures:
Host workshops and lectures on environmental topics such as biodiversity, conservation and climate change.

To foster social values such as empathy, social responsibility, and community service by organizing visits to orphanages, old age homes, and marginalized communities.
Activities:
Visits to Orphanages and Old Age Homes:
Organize regular visits where students can interact with residents, arrange events, and offer moral support within their capacity.

The club aims to develop students' creative writing skills, enhance their understanding of the publication process, and foster a love for science and self-expression.

MANURE APPLICATION 21.11.2024
November is usually known as the exam season, but it also marks the beginning of the holiday period once exams are over. Despite the break, some enthusiastic students reached out to the coordinator to participate in the manure application for the garden. This time was considered ideal for applying manure because the weather was perfect after some good rainfall.
The manure used was cow dung enriched with beneficial microorganisms named Ganajeeva, mixed with eggshell powder. This mixture was then applied to the garden to enrich the soil. Once the college reopens, the rest of the students will join in to continue the gardening activities. This initiative not only helps maintain the garden but also teaches students the importance of sustainable practices.

MANURE APPLICATION
The mixed manure is applied to the plants after good rainfall and the soil is ready to absorb the manure.

PREPARATION OF PANCHAGAVYA
BY FIRST YEAR B.Sc., BOTANY STUDENTS (2025 BATCH)
As part of skill-based learning, students were trained step-by-step in Panchagavya preparation by the club coordinator,
Dr. S. Gnaana Saraswathi, strengthening their practical skills in organic farming.
Students engaged in Panchagavya preparation after completing the hands-on training (*to be used later for the plants in the department garden), thereby strengthening their practical skills and reinforcing the value of organic gardening practices.
