The second day, after a substanial breakfast, we took the underground and arrived at Blackfriars station, in the area also known as “The City” or “Square Mile”. We had a walk on the “Blackfriars Bridge” and the “Millennium Bridge” while admiring the landscape🌉. From that viewpoint we could see the St. Paul Cathedral and the London Bridge. 🤩
At 10 am we entered the Tate Modern museum, where our teacher gave us the first task of the day: we had to search for a piece of art which gave us a strong emotional feeling, describe it and record a video 📹 with an atmospheric background track related to that specific emotion. We concentrated in three main areas of the museum: “In the studio” , “Materials and objects” and “Media Networks”; the works of art were quite strange and unusual but interesting at the same time. We saw some pieces of art by famous artists such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Yayoi Kusama👨🎨. If you want to take a look at the museum, click this link ⬇️:

After a quick lunch, we took a double-decker bus 🚌 and headed towards the Tate Britain Museum where we had been given the second task of the day: we had to look for another piece of art related to the previous one and create a new video with both works. In this museum there are a lot of different artists that we studied during the year like: John Constable, William Turner and William Blake🎨. While we were on the way to Westminster Abbey ⛪️ , we watched the changing of the guards💂. At first it was unexpected as it was not a planned activity but a few moments later, we understood what was going on. It was amazing to see but we found it to be very formal 🫡 .
Around 5 p.m. we reached Westminster Abbey , we waited outside for about half an hour and finally we entered the abbey in order to attend Evensong🙏🏻. It was very solemn and majestic due to the grandeur of the abbey where it was taking place.
We could not take pictures inside, but you can have a VIRTUAL TOUR INSIDE THE CATHEDRAL with us, if you want!

After an hour we returned to the hotel by Tube. Once we got there, we went to our rooms in order to rest, then we had dinner. 😴🍔
