Dear Madison Primary Families,
We are definitely in the groove at MPS. Some items to keep in mind:
Halloween is rapidly approaching. Please click the link to see the information regarding K-2 Halloween festivities: Madison Primary--Halloween
PreK Halloween Parties are on October 29th.
Scholastic Book Fair will be during the week of October 12-16. It will be OPEN on on the night of Oct. 14th during our 1st night of conferences.
K-2 Pick-Up Reminders:
Please make sure your child knows their pick-up number. It will help them understand that their ride is here and it is time to go home. There are times that students do not respond when their number is called because they are not sure of their number.
The students must stay behind the blue line (by the front door) until ALL cars in the pick-up line have stopped. They are not to go to their car until we have given them the "go ahead". Please do not call your child to the car until the adults have released them. We do this to make sure all children are safe around the pick-up traffic.
If your child is not riding the bus home at the end of the day, please call the office in the morning or send a note with your child. If we do not get notification and your child usually rides, they will be put on the bus.
Grades K-2: If you drop off your child in the morning, please make sure that your child exits the car from the passenger side door with minimal assistance. Adults dropping off should not get out of the car. Exiting from the driver's side is dangerous as some cars could be pulling around to leave. If your child needs more assistance, you can park and walk them across the crosswalk.
PreK parents: If you need to add to or change your allowed pick-up adults, you must email betsy.keller@madisonschools.net or send a written note in with your child.
NO SCHOOL on Friday, 10/9 for Fall Break.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are October 14 and 22 from 2:20-5:20. Make sure you've signed up for a time with your child's teacher.
At Madison Primary School, we know that young children are still learning how to express their feelings, solve problems, and interact respectfully with others. We are continuing to remind our students about the importance of making kind, respectful, and school-appropriate choices in both their words and actions.
We encourage families to have conversations at home about using respectful language, choosing appropriate actions and gestures, and treating others with kindness—even when they are frustrated, excited, or upset. These everyday conversations help children understand that their choices can have an impact on the people around them.
