The holiday season is a very exciting time for most of us! You can also help others in your community during this season of giving as well, though.
Make holiday cards for sick children
Making holiday cards for sick children is a very easy and fun way to spread some extra cheer this season. Many sick children would be very grateful to receive even something as simple as this.
Cards For Hospitalized Kids is a good place to mail these cards, where they will then be distributed to Children’s Hospitals all around the country.
All of the additional information is on their website.
Toy Drive
A toy drive can be a good way to give back to the community, since the toys are going to children in need who may not receive any other gifts.
There’s lots of local toy drives at various businesses and also non-profit organizations, like Toys for Tots.
You can also donate money for the organization to pay for more toys through Toys for Tots by visiting their website.
Volunteer at an animal shelter
The holiday season is a great time to spend your time volunteering to help animals in need! This is a great option, especially for teens and pre-teens.
It’s important to do research on which animal shelters teens can volunteer at, though, since some organizations may have age requirements and lots require a parent to also be present.
These are just some ways to help during the holiday season! Some other ways to help also include delivering meals to people in need and visiting elderly people at local nursing homes.
