Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) may be an unfamiliar word to you. It as a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that leads to a feeling of contentment or well-being
This poem and these photos capture the hygge in our everyday lives during winter.
Shut in a room,Â
No noise, no sound,
But a purr of a cat,
And the atmosphere spellbound.
Twinkly lights,
Hung from above,
With a hot mug of tea,
And an old novel full of love.
Thick fuzzy socks,
Cozy pajamas oh so fluffy,
Snuggling with warm furry cats,
Stuffed animals loved and scruffy.
Flickering candle in the corner,
Provides steady light,
To get lost in a book,
And read away the night.
Hygge is found,
Amidst the daily scramble.
If you strive to find it,
It may be worth the gamble.
