Hola a todos!
The kids call me Ms. Baez. I am a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico. I moved to Madison AL in 2010 and am a proud Bob Jones alumna.
I enjoy teaching all academics and all ages, although the elementary grades are my passion. I have taught Reading in Madison County as a 4th grade teacher, and Spanish in Huntsville City as an 8th grade teacher. The 2021 - 2021 school year will be my sixth year of teaching. I am certified for K - 6 multiple subjects and K - 12 ESOL and Spanish. I enjoy reading, traveling, sports, and working out. I am hoping this upcoming school year is full of challenges and victories. I take your kid's education very seriously and am willing to go the extra mile to help them become more well-rounded citizens of the world by learning a new language and learning about the cultures in the Spanish-speaking world. Welcome to Spanish class!

My name is María Ingram and I'm so happy to be your child's Spanish teacher! I look forward to getting to know your child and sharing the Spanish language and cultures of the Spanish- speaking world with them. I've been a teacher since 2006 and have taught Spanish and English as a Second Language to all ages from preschool to adult. I love traveling and learning about new places, cultures, and languages, hiking, reading, and spending time with my family. ¡Hola y bienvenidos a la clase de español! Hello and welcome to Spanish class!
My name is Paul Orton, and I'm so happy to be your child's Spanish teacher.
I've been a teacher since 2000 and have taught Spanish and English as a Second Language to all ages from preschooler to adult. I majored in Spanish at the University of North Alabama. I have lived in Madison with my family since 2019.
I've visited Spain, studied in Mexico, and taught English in China.
In our Spanish class we will be learning with music, movement, and stories. I try to speak Spanish in class that the students can understand. My background has been using comprehensible input to teach Spanish for acquisition as researched by linguist Stephen Krashen. I also use TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) as developed by Blaine Ray. My biggest influences as a Spanish teacher have been Dr. Paul Jones and Dr. Claudia Polo Vance at the University of North Alabama. The work and trainings of language teachers Blaine Ray, Mike Peto, Jeff Brown, Tina Hargadon, Ben Slavic, and Susan Gross have been extremely helpful as well.
If you have any questions or concerns or are interested in ways to help your child practice their Spanish outside of class please email me at the email address above.
Gracias/ Thanks,
Señor Orton
