Social Learning’s main subject matter was a self portrait, where in each individual painting of the polyptych, the original subject slowly fades and the proportions grow distorted. In a holistic view, all the paintings come together to present Canadian psychologist Albert Bandura’s theory on social learning. This theory focuses on three stages: observation, imitation and modelling, where, through observation of another individual’s identity, we pick up certain behaviours, interests and mannerisms.
