Koru Spiral Plant New Zealand Landscape

Students travelled virtually to different countries during Art. They learned about New Zealand and were influenced by artist Raewyn Harris, who paints koru plants. The koru is a spiral shape based on the unfurling of a silver fern frond and, to the people of New Zealand, represents the unfolding of new life or renewal. Students discovered that the spiral shape is found in many Maori sculptures and tattoos.
