Influenced by my personal experience of living with an invisible, chronic illness, my work aims to elicit a sense of discomfort, commenting on the reality of living with unseen pain. This is expressed through microscopic elements from inside the body, with shapes and linework referencing the unseen details of my body not working. Influenced by Judy Watson, I used etching to scrape a layer from the ground, symbolising pain and permanence and making the invisible visible.
