My artwork is a self portrait illustrating my feelings of being trapped and 'blinded' by present realities, while desiring to escape. This is reflected through symbols – rather than expressing these emotions through my face, the surrounding environment expresses it. Within my pieces I like to add double meaning, where the context is up to audience interpretation. Although there are meanings behind each symbol, I want the audience to interpret their own experiences of escapism.
