Seeing Sound

I chose to explore self-expression by street performers in a decontextualised environment. This artwork removes the distraction from the background to give the subject the focus. I wanted to make the subject look natural in the coloured background. I did this by adding an artificial shadow, adding contrast and slightly feathering the subject. I was inspired by the artworks by Girma Berta in Ethiopia and the street photography by Phil Penman.
